Select the Source Settings- Understanding Disaster Recovery
To select the source settings, perform the following:
- Sign into the Azure portal at https://portal.azure.com.
- Search for and select Recovery Services Vault.
- In the vault, select Site Recovery from the menu, and then under Azure Virtual Machines, select Enable Replication, as shown in Figure 17.45.
4. On the Enable Replication page, on the Source tab, enter the following, as shown in Figure 17.46.

Region— Select the source Azure region in which VMs are currently running.
Subscription— Select the subscription in which VMs are running. You can select any subscription that’s in the same Azure AD tenant as the vault.
Resource Group— Select the desired resource group from the drop- down list.
Virtual Machine Deployment Model— Retain the default Resource Manager setting.
Disaster Recovery Between Availability Zones— Retain the default No setting.
5. Click Next.
Select the VMs
Site Recovery retrieves the VMs associated with the selected subscription/resource group. To select the VMs, perform the following:
1. In Virtual Machines, select the VMs you want to enable for disaster recovery, as shown in Figure 17.47. You can select up to 10 VMs.

2. Click Next.
Review the Replication Settings
To review the replication settings, perform the following:
- In Replication Settings, review the settings, as shown in Figure 17.48. Site Recovery creates default settings/policy for the target region.

2. When done reviewing the replication settings, click Next.
