Configure Backup to a Recovery Services Vault- Understanding Disaster Recovery

To configure a backup to a Recovery Services Vault, perform the following:

1. Navigate to the Backup Center and select + Backup from the top of the Overview tab.
2. Select the type of data source that you want to back up, as shown in Figure 17.19.

3. Choose a Recovery Services Vault and then click Proceed. This will direct you to the backup configuration experience that is identical to the one reachable from a Recovery Services Vault.

Configure Backup to a Backup Vault

To configure a backup to a Backup Vault, perform the following:

1. Navigate to the Backup Center and select + Backup at the top of the Overview tab.
2. Select the type of data source that you want to back up, as shown in Figure 17.20.

3. Click Proceed. This will direct you to the backup configuration experience that is identical to the one reachable from a Backup Vault.

Restore a Backup Instance from a Recovery Services Vault

To restore a backup instance from a Recovery Services Vault, perform the following:

1. Navigate to the Backup Center and select Restore from the top of the Overview tab.
2. Select the type of data source that you want to restore, as shown in Figure 17.21.

3. Choose a backup instance and then click Proceed. This will direct you to the restore settings experience that is identical to the one reachable from a Recovery Services Vault.

Restore a Backup Instance from a Backup Vault

To restore a backup instance from a Backup Vault, perform the following:

1. Navigate to the Backup Center and select Restore from the top of the Overview tab.
2. Select the type of data source that you want to restore, as shown in Figure 17.22.

3. Choose a backup instance and then click Proceed. This will direct you to the restore settings experience that is identical to the one reachable from a Recovery Services Vault.

Create a New Backup Policy to Back Up to a Recovery Services Vault

To create a new backup policy to back up to a Recovery Services Vault, perform the following:

1. Navigate to the Backup Center and select + Policy from the top of the Overview tab.
2. Select the type of data source that you want to backup, as shown in Figure 17.23.

3. Choose a Recovery Services Vault and then click Proceed. This will direct you to the policy creation experience that is identical to the one reachable from a Recovery Services Vault.

Create a New Backup Policy to Back Up to a Backup Vault

To create a new backup policy to back up to a Backup Vault, perform the following:

1. Navigate to the Backup Center and select + Policy from the top of the Overview tab.
2. Select the type of data source that you want to back up, as shown in Figure 17.24.

3. Click Proceed. This will direct you to the policy creation experience that is identical to the one reachable from a Backup Vault.
